Job Overview

The individual in this role is tasked with the meticulous preparation of all food items listed on the designated menus, which may include grilling, frying, broiling, baking, boiling, braising, poaching, or pantry preparations within a specified kitchen environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Fosters an inviting atmosphere that encourages guests to choose Hard Rock International for their entertainment needs; actively engages in building and maintaining guest relationships while mentoring team members to deliver exceptional service.
  • Prepares a variety of dishes through methods such as grilling, frying, broiling, baking, boiling, braising, and poaching; ensures that all served plates are visually appealing and meet both customer and chef specifications.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of various sauces and applies them appropriately to all entrees featured on the daily menus.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work station.
  • Collaborates with colleagues to ensure the kitchen operates efficiently.
  • May assist with special events or parties as needed.
  • Ensures the cleanliness of the work area; reports any safety hazards, equipment failures, or accidents.
  • Oversees the proper storage of food items, including leftovers from previous functions.
  • Ensures that all items are adequately stocked and that equipment is functioning properly.
  • Handles the proper closing procedures for work stations.
  • Participates in meetings and completes assigned follow-up tasks.
  • Consistently performs work duties in a reliable manner.
  • Assists with various tasks during special events or parties, including but not limited to carving, cooking, setup, and teardown of stations or work areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Typically, this knowledge and skill set are acquired through a High School Diploma or equivalent. A culinary apprenticeship, an Associate's Degree from a culinary institution, or equivalent experience in the industry is preferred.

  • Must obtain and maintain all necessary licenses and certifications in accordance with Federal, State, and Gaming/Lottery regulations.
  • Must successfully pass a background check.
  • Must successfully pass a drug screening.
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.

Knowledge Required:

  • Fundamental knowledge of food preparation and experience in line work.

Skills Required:

  • Ability to adapt to varying shifts and schedules as required.
  • Effective communication skills with all levels of staff and guests.
  • Proficient in using all equipment associated with the position, including choppers, slicers, mixers, and grinders.
