Senior Systems Administrator

Full-time


Veterans First Initiative, LLC (VFI) is a U.S. Government Contractor and IT Services Integrator that provides comprehensive solutions in Network, Unified Communications, Information Technology, and Cybersecurity Engineering on a global scale. VFI is recognized by the Department of Veterans Affairs as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB).


VFI is in search of a skilled and knowledgeable Senior Systems Administrator to support a complex, multi-year contract with the Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) in delivering top-notch Information Technology (IT) Services.


Note: All applicants must hold an active DoD Secret clearance.


Location: Remote options available based on project requirements.

Schedule: Standard business hours, with occasional after-hours support as necessary.

Travel: Minimal, less than 10%.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the technical infrastructure to ensure it meets business requirements with minimal supervision, including proactive software updates and maintenance.
  • Provide first-level support and troubleshooting for incidents reported through system monitoring, user support tickets, and collaboration with IT colleagues.
  • Offer after-hours support as required.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in managing network modernization or system projects of similar complexity.
  • Proficient in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting solutions across Microsoft Windows and Apple OS, various browsers, and diagnostic tools, while adhering to security protocols.
  • Experience with relational database systems and SQL tools, understanding the interplay between databases and software interfaces.
  • Familiarity with system documentation and organizational practices.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current technologies and practices, including application and network security.
  • Hands-on experience with personal computer hardware components.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with robust problem-solving skills, capable of anticipating and providing solutions to enhance business processes and customer service.
  • Ability to articulate complex technical topics to diverse audiences.
  • IAT Level II Certification is required.
