We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Substation Civil Structural Engineer to join our team at Leidos. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading and designing high voltage utility civil substation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform design reviews of civil/structural design components, including substation structure design, rigid bus design, foundation design, oil spill containment design, retaining walls, masonry control shelters, and fire-walls.
- Develop and maintain technical expertise in civil/structural design, including steel structures, concrete structures, geotechnical engineering, and foundations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design packages meet project scope, schedule, and budget expectations.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff members.
- Participate in bid and proposal development, and contribute to the development of construction packages for substation projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil-Structural Engineering with 5+ years of related experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MATHCAD software.
- Proficiency in STAAD.Pro, RISA 3D, FAD Tools, SAFE, SAG10, and LPile software.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation.
- Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Pay Range: $68,550.00 - $124,550.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
