Position Overview:
A Server-Side Software Engineer is responsible for utilizing contemporary, open-source technologies to design and implement back-end web solutions. This role encompasses all facets of server-side operations, data management, and integration with front-end development.


The Server-Side Software Engineer will engage in web development using popular open-source programming languages (e.g., Ruby, Python) and frameworks (e.g., Django, Rails); create and utilize web-based, RESTful APIs; collaborate in team settings that adopt various methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Lean); produce developer-oriented documentation (e.g., API documentation, deployment procedures); apply test-driven development practices; utilize version control systems (e.g., Git and GitHub); explore and adopt new programming tools and methodologies; design relational and non-relational database systems; develop scalable search technologies (e.g., Elasticsearch, Solr) to manage extensive data sets and optimize their processing and storage; work with open-source solutions and communities; and convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills:


Server-Side Software Engineers should have a strong ability to translate technical tasks into user-friendly visuals; engage in back-end coding while staying informed about emerging technologies and trends to ensure the website remains current and well-maintained; possess a comprehensive understanding of web application functionality, including security, session management, and best development practices; demonstrate programming proficiency in HTML/CSS, security awareness, and session management; and have expertise in at least one of the following programming languages: PHP, ASP.NET, JavaScript, or Ruby on Rails.


Preferred Skills:

Develop, test, and debug new and existing business applications using .Net, Visual Studio, and open-source tools.
Proficiency in full-stack development - Strong knowledge in SQL Server 2012 or later.

Advanced coding skills in SQL and experience creating stored procedures.

Familiarity with Cloud-Based Architecture; Azure preferred.
Experience with data communication with other Microsoft platforms, such as Power Apps or Dynamics 365.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to create work plans and technical documents covering system architecture, conversion, integration, testing, and implementation for a system or complex enhancements.

Ability to oversee development and provide recommendations and updates to management.

Capability to develop functional requirements.

Ability to effectively interact with clients, supervisors, and managers.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Experience Required:


This position requires a minimum of four (4) years of experience in back-end web applications, open-source programming languages and frameworks, emerging technologies, and best development practices.


Experience Preferred:
3+ years of experience in building, coding, testing, and debugging ASP.NET applications using C# and Visual Studio.
3+ years of experience with API/REST architecture.
3+ years of experience using Azure DevOps for team collaboration and version control.

3+ years of experience in SQL Server 2012 or later, including creating Stored Procedures, utilizing Reporting Services, and developing Integration Services packages.

1+ year of experience in PowerApps/Power Automate.
1+ year of experience in Azure DevOps and GitHub.

Additional Information:

This role will be hybrid, requiring on-site presence one day a week, while the remainder of the week will be remote.
