We are seeking a skilled Diesel Equipment Mechanic to join our team at Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores. As a Diesel Equipment Mechanic, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our fleet and providing exceptional service to our customers.

Job Description

This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to work with a dynamic team that values innovation and customer satisfaction. In this role, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, as well as troubleshooting and resolving complex issues. Your excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with others will be essential in providing top-notch service to our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair light mechanical issues, including wheel-end assemblies, electrical systems, suspensions, A/C, and engine components.
  • Assist customers with roadside services, ensuring their safety and satisfaction.
  • Provide preventative maintenance services to ensure our fleet operates efficiently and safely.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to company safety policies and procedures.
  • Work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night shifts as needed.
  • Able to obtain a medical card through the Department of Transportation (paid by Love's).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or technical certification preferred.
  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience in heavy vehicle repair or diesel equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to lift 75+ pounds and work in close quarters.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to obtain a CDL (Commercial Driver's License) if not already held.

Salary

The estimated annual salary for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 based on experience and qualifications.
