Job Summary

Brown University Athletics and Recreation is seeking a highly skilled Athletic Trainer to join our team. As a key member of our sports medicine department, you will provide medical care and health education to ensure the safety of our student-athletes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide medical care and health education to student-athletes
  • Reduce the risk of injury and guide rehabilitation under the guidance of the Director of Sports Medicine
  • Serve as primary athletic trainer for sports to be determined by the Director of Sports Medicine, including some travel
  • Maintain NATABOC Certification Continuing Education Units (CEUs) every reporting period
  • Appropriate Emergency Cardiac Care certification as required by the BOC
Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree, required; Masters Degree, preferred
  • RI Athletic Training License required (to be obtained prior to hire date)
  • NATABOC Certification, required
  • A minimum of one year of relevant athletic training experience required
Competencies
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication & computer skills, necessary
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and relate well to students
  • Strong work ethic, passion for the profession and commitment to student-athletes
  • Demonstrated ability to support a community of diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive environment
