Salary Range: $75,000 - $105,000
Position Summary
This role is responsible for overseeing and managing facility support initiatives while implementing projects aimed at enhancing the capability, productivity, efficiency, and safety of manufacturing operations. The incumbent will be accountable for the design oversight, installation, and qualification of new or modified equipment and control systems, reporting directly to the Automation and Controls Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support for existing manufacturing equipment control systems, including PLCs, Drives (AC/DC), and HMI Vision controls.
- Assess, develop, and execute projects, which encompass programming and testing activities.
- Maintain comprehensive engineering documentation.
- Offer support for Wonderware systems.
- Assist with facility-related support tasks.
Essential Skills and Knowledge
- Demonstrated success in managing capital projects.
- Self-motivated individual with strong communication, interpersonal, project management, and technical skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload effectively, with a focus on satisfying internal stakeholders.
- Technical expertise in electro-mechanical drive systems and controls, including pneumatics, hydraulics, AC/DC motors, PLCs, HMIs, and assembly machinery.
- Understanding of predictive, preventative, and corrective design and maintenance of electro-mechanical systems to mitigate ongoing issues.
- General knowledge of facility infrastructure.
- Experience in Flexible Packaging or Converting operations is highly valued.
- Familiarity with SPC, Six Sigma, and lean manufacturing principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- A minimum of one year of experience with process control equipment.
- Programming experience with one or more of the following:
- PLCs - Allen-Bradley (Rockwell), Siemens.
- Drives (VFD/Servo) – Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Emerson.
- HMI – Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Wonderware, Automation Direct.
- Software – Rockwell, Siemens, Wonderware, Automation Direct, Control Techniques.
- AutoCAD 2D.
