Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and results-oriented Insurance Defense Associate to join our successful legal team.
This role offers the opportunity to engage with a wide array of insurance defense cases, providing legal guidance to our clients and representing them in both state and federal courts.
The ideal candidate will be an associate attorney with substantial experience in personal injury, bodily injury, depositions, mediations, and insurance defense.
Key Responsibilities:
As an Insurance Defense Associate, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a varied caseload with moderate to high complexity and exposure.
- Defending policyholders and the company in bodily injury and property damage lawsuits.
- Overseeing personal injury claims from initiation to resolution, including trial preparation, discovery, depositions, and mediations.
- Drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and opinions.
- Conducting and defending depositions of parties and expert witnesses.
- Negotiating settlements on behalf of the insurance company.
- Providing legal counsel to clients and claims professionals.
- Participating in special projects and initiatives as required.
- Staying informed on legal developments and advising clients on changes that may impact their insurance claims.
Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as an attorney, preferably in insurance defense.
- Admission to practice law in state and federal courts.
- Demonstrated experience in personal injury, bodily injury, depositions, mediations, and insurance defense.
- Strong negotiation, research, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple cases and projects.
- Proven capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High ethical standards and professional integrity.
