Position: STAFF DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR - RN
Employment Type: Full Time
Role Overview:
- Oversees the staff training and development initiatives for the facility.
- Serves as the health nurse for personnel within the facility.
- Facilitates orientation programs for all new hires in accordance with established policies.
- Conducts training on blood-borne pathogens for all incoming staff and provides necessary updates.
- Delivers training on hazard communication standards for new employees and ensures annual refreshers for all staff.
- Acts as the lead instructor for the Nurse Aide Training Program, as approved by relevant authorities.
- Promotes and organizes workshops, in-service training, and continuing education opportunities for staff.
- Coordinates and leads in-house training sessions for all personnel.
- Assists the Nursing Management Team in evaluating incident reports as directed by the Director of Nursing.
- May serve as charge nurse or supervisor during nursing emergencies.
Qualifications:
- Must be a Registered Nurse with a degree from an accredited nursing program and possess a valid RN license.
- A minimum of five years of nursing experience in long-term care or nursing education is required.
- Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality nursing care and a strong interest in geriatric nursing.
- Current CPR certification is mandatory.
- Proven ability to supervise nursing staff, ensuring timely and appropriate completion of assignments.
- Strong decision-making skills regarding nursing-related issues.
- Ability to effectively teach, instruct, and lead orientation and continuing education sessions.
- Familiarity with personnel, departmental, and facility procedures, as well as compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
