Position: STAFF DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR - RN

Employment Type: Full Time

Role Overview:

  • Oversees the staff training and development initiatives for the facility.
  • Serves as the health nurse for personnel within the facility.
  • Facilitates orientation programs for all new hires in accordance with established policies.
  • Conducts training on blood-borne pathogens for all incoming staff and provides necessary updates.
  • Delivers training on hazard communication standards for new employees and ensures annual refreshers for all staff.
  • Acts as the lead instructor for the Nurse Aide Training Program, as approved by relevant authorities.
  • Promotes and organizes workshops, in-service training, and continuing education opportunities for staff.
  • Coordinates and leads in-house training sessions for all personnel.
  • Assists the Nursing Management Team in evaluating incident reports as directed by the Director of Nursing.
  • May serve as charge nurse or supervisor during nursing emergencies.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a Registered Nurse with a degree from an accredited nursing program and possess a valid RN license.
  • A minimum of five years of nursing experience in long-term care or nursing education is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality nursing care and a strong interest in geriatric nursing.
  • Current CPR certification is mandatory.
  • Proven ability to supervise nursing staff, ensuring timely and appropriate completion of assignments.
  • Strong decision-making skills regarding nursing-related issues.
  • Ability to effectively teach, instruct, and lead orientation and continuing education sessions.
  • Familiarity with personnel, departmental, and facility procedures, as well as compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
