Job Overview

Knoxville-Knox County Head Start/Early Head Start is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to support our education services. As an Education Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of our preschool program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager for Education and Special Services to develop and implement education services that meet the needs of our children and families.
  • Monitor and track education documentation, including home visits, parent conferences, and lesson plans.
  • Assist in conducting child education screenings and assessments, and provide support for education staff in delivering quality services.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest research and effective practices in early childhood education, and provide professional development opportunities for education staff.
  • Ensure program compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Requirements
  • Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Experience in teaching preschool children in a classroom setting.
  • Prior Head Start experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood development and effective practices in early education.
  • Ability to obtain certification in CLASS and TPOT.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to efficiently navigate online platforms and software applications.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
