Job Overview:
We are currently seeking an on-call Food Server to support our Spokane, WA operations. This role involves assisting in the preparation of meals and snacks for patients, serving customers in the cafeteria, operating the cash register, and performing daily post-meal cleaning duties.

Schedule: On-call (in-person)

Holidays: 9 observed holidays annually

Compensation Range: The pay range for this position is $16.28/hr - $21.62/hr, with placement based on qualifications, professional experience, and education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meal Preparation: Exhibit skills in food preparation, including maintaining appropriate food temperatures, setup, and service for patients (including those on special diets) and cafeteria patrons.
  • Food Service Cleanup: Execute the cleanup of patient trays and cafeteria dishes, adhering to departmental procedures. Demonstrate proficiency in operating the Hobart Dishwasher according to established protocols.
  • Cash Register Operation: Display knowledge and skills in operating the cash register accurately, processing cafeteria sales, providing correct change, and reconciling the cash drawer at the end of shifts.
  • Food Storage: Ensure safe storage of food items to minimize waste and spoilage, following departmental guidelines.
  • Food Handling: Adhere to Health Department temperature standards in food handling, employing techniques to prevent cross-contamination of potentially hazardous foods.
  • Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness in food preparation techniques and the use of utensils and work areas, in compliance with Department of Health regulations.
  • Emergency Response: Possess knowledge and ability to perform the Heimlich Maneuver safely.

Qualifications:
Required:

  • ServSafe Food Safety Certificate/Food Handlers Card
  • 1 year of customer service experience
  • COVID-19 Vaccination

Preferred:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year of experience in cashiering or food preparation
