Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team at Corewell Health. As a Senior Special Procedures Technician, you will provide direct care to patients undergoing Heart and/or Vascular procedures, assisting physicians and delivering quality patient/family centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor patients undergoing routine invasive, interventional procedures, providing intra-procedural technical support and quality patient/family centered care.
  • Perform and record hemodynamic/physiologic wave forms and calculations, communicating effectively with co-workers, physicians, patients, families, and all ancillary departments.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on technical equipment, maintain radiation safety standards for staff and patients, and participate in department skills validations.
  • Provide training to less experienced techs, 1st assist physicians using sterile technique, and fully participate in image post processing, cross modality imaging (CT, U/S), 3D imaging, vascular, and cerebral cases.
  • Cath Lab Special Procedure Techs must be able to utilize IVUS, FFR, OCT, ICE, EKOS, Impella, Cardiac, peripheral, and Carotid interventions, while EP Lab Special Procedure Techs must be able to utilize ICE, participate in device Implants, and circulate in all other EP cases.

Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited radiography program (JRCERT) for Interventional Radiology, or a graduate of Cardiovascular Technologist program, associate degree in cardiovascular technology/basic science, Paramedic license, Exercise Physiologist, or equivalent training and/or education for Cath Lab/EP Lab.
  • More than 3 + years of Interventional experience, with the ability to train others in the clinical skills listed within below grid per each individual department and/or site scope.
  • Expertise in all areas that are performed, with BLS certification and active RT status upon hire, and an RT-CV or VI registration for IR, or BLS and ACLS upon hire, Registered RCES/RCIS/RT certification, and IABP certification for Cath Lab, and BLS and ACLS upon hire, Registered RCIS/RCES/RT for EP Lab.
