The Role

We are seeking a Special Education Teacher to join our team at Rocky Mountain Prep. As a Special Education Teacher, you will work with students who require additional support to access the general education curriculum. You will develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that meet the unique needs of each student. You will also collaborate with general education teachers and other special education professionals to ensure that instruction meets the needs of each learner.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement IEPs that meet the unique needs of each student
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and other special education professionals to ensure that instruction meets the needs of each learner
  • Provide individualized instruction and support to students who require additional help
  • Track and progress monitor student progress towards IEP goals
  • Manage and lead a team of teaching assistants in providing one-on-one instructional and behavioral support to students
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's and/or master's degree in any subject
  • Current Colorado teaching license with a special education generalist (5-21) and/or special education specialist (5-21) endorsement(s)
  • Pass a background check
  • Demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum two years of lead teaching experience
  • History of working with special needs populations
  • Understanding of ABC data collection
  • History of case management
  • CPI/NCI trained
