Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Inspector to join our team at Vestas American Wind Technology. As a Quality Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct quality inspections and tests on products at various stages of the production process.
  • Compile and evaluate statistical data to determine and ensure quality and reliability of products.
  • Identify defects and work with production and technical support departments to resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with production members to improve manufacturing processes and provide an interface to other departments to ensure expedient resolution of issues.
  • Perform containment of non-conforming parts or products and support part disposition for scrap or internal rework.
  • Facilitate non-standard work events and ensure that all processes are followed to bring product back into conformance.
  • Inspect and verify material according to specifications for known defects and support creation of non-conformity reports for any defects.
  • Coordinate rework activities for NC parts or products in progress or inventory with Quality Engineer and Quality Technician support.
  • Provide an independent quality approval to processes that you are not a participant in the manufacturing of such products.
  • Facilitate the Form, Fit, and Function testing of identified products.
  • Write NC reports on parts not meeting defined specifications.
  • Support the production line on potential quality issues and provide guidance to specifications.
  • Verify whether the set product requirements are fulfilled before the product is released from the manufacturing department.
  • Compile and communicate the Quality reports.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); four years of manufacturing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong natural ability to work in teams, high degree of adaptability & flexibility, strong desire to learn new skills & knowledge, excellent work ethic, dependability & dedication to team/company, personal desire/value to produce quality work, and ability/desire to work as a craftsman.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Experience auditing, quality assurance/control/improvement, statistical tools, 6 Sigma, statistical analysis and SPC preferred.

Mon-Thurs Days: 6am-4:30pm - 4/10 hr. shifts Mon-Thurs Nights: 6pm-4:30am -4/10 hr. shifts
