Job Summary

Eurofins USA PSS Insourcing Solutions is seeking an Environmental Monitoring Microbiologist to join our team. As an Environmental Monitoring Microbiologist, you will be responsible for performing environmental monitoring of process areas, sampling high-purity water, clean steam, and compressed gas systems, and maintaining laboratory supplies, media, and reagents inventory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform environmental monitoring of process areas
  • Sample high-purity water, clean steam, and compressed gas systems
  • Maintain laboratory supplies, media, and reagents inventory
  • Perform lab support functions and inventory management
  • Clean controlled temperature units, operate the autoclave, and perform other basic lab support responsibilities
  • Participate in overtime, weekend, and holiday scheduling as required
  • Participate in on-call scheduling as required
  • Assist in coordinating equipment maintenance and calibration
  • Participate in training of other employees
  • Use Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for sample and sample test result tracking
  • May perform acceptance testing of commercially prepared microbiological culture media

Requirements:

  • A strong work ethic and ability to meet physical demands, including lifting objects of 25 lbs. or more, walking and standing for extended periods, pushing or pulling carts and equipment, and bending down or reaching for supplies
  • Associates Degree in Life Sciences or equivalent relevant experience
  • Relevant experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries
  • Environmental Monitoring experience preferred
  • Microbial identification procedure knowledge
  • Knowledge of cGMP is a plus
  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
  • Experience with LIMS preferred
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Additional Information:

The position is full-time, first shift, Wednesday-Saturday, 7 am-5:30 pm. Candidates must be flexible to adapt to schedule changes requiring shift changes and/or weekend work, and overtime may be required as needed. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Rensselaer, New York are encouraged to apply.
