Salary and Benefits
  • Estimated Salary Range: $36.90 - $69.95 per hour
  • Night Differential: $4.75 per hour
  • Weekend Differential: $4.00 per hour
  • BSN (or higher) premium: $1.00/hour
  • Certification premium: $1.00/hour

Job Responsibilities

This Registered Nurse position is responsible for the direct delivery of patient care to laboring patients, delivering newborns, postpartum care, and caring for newborns.

  • Assume all responsibilities of a labor, delivery, postpartum, nursery nurse by providing direct patient care to patients from infancy through adults.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing standards.
  • Utilize the 5-step nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation) to provide necessary services for patient care.
  • Participate in communication and problem-solving with patient/significant other, health team members, and their departments.
  • Assess knowledge level of patient/significant other, participate with patient/significant other in goal development to meet needs, develop teaching plan, and evaluate outcome.
  • Document appropriate components of the nursing process according to established standards.
  • Assess own learning needs, establish priorities, and develop an action plan.
  • Enter patient data into the computer.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs.
  • Understand and support principles of case management.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current WA State RN License.
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification.
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Certification.
  • Minimum of one year experience in labor, delivery, postpartum, and nursery care.
