Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the Georgia Department of Public Health. As a Public Health Nurse Specialist, you will provide direct nursing care and assist public health nurses and county programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide general direct nursing care, including medical treatments, administering medication, and giving injections.
  • Assigned to specific clinical duties within the scope of an LPN practice in public health.
  • Act as lead worker over specified projects or programs.
  • Participate in health fairs and educational programs.
  • Perform TB screenings and administer PPD skin tests.
  • Prepare to respond to public health emergencies and respond as directed.
  • Use computer technology to collect, store, and retrieve data.
  • Participate in program planning.
  • Communicate effectively with proper terminology and cultural proficiency.
Requirements
  • Vocational/Technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college.
  • Current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • CPR certification.
  • Completion of all necessary orientation and training for Public Health LPN.
