Create a Supportive and Inclusive Learning Environment

Establish a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement, growth, and social-emotional development. Foster a culture of respect, empathy, and understanding among students, teachers, and support staff.

Provide Differentiated Instruction and Adapt Teaching Strategies

Develop and implement differentiated instruction and adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students with special needs. Utilize a range of instructional techniques, materials, and resources to enhance student learning and engagement.

Assess and Monitor Student Progress

Regularly assess and monitor student progress, documenting achievements and identifying areas for improvement. Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to develop and implement strategies to address student needs.

Collaborate with Colleagues and Parents

Work closely with colleagues, parents, and support staff to ensure effective communication and coordination of services. Foster strong relationships with parents and guardians to ensure they are informed and involved in their child's educational journey.

Utilize Assistive Technology and Adaptive Equipment

Integrate assistive technology and adaptive equipment into instructional practices to facilitate student participation and independence. Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and equipment to ensure students have access to the resources they need to succeed.

Monitor and Address Social-Emotional Development

Regularly monitor and address students' social-emotional development, behavior management, and self-regulation skills. Develop and implement strategies to support students in developing essential life skills and coping mechanisms.

Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Special Education

A Master's degree in Special Education or a related field is preferred. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field may be considered with relevant experience.

Valid Teaching Certificate or Credential

A valid teaching certificate or credential in Special Education is required. Candidates must be certified to teach in the state where the position is located.

Familiarity with IEPs and Assistive Technology

Candidates must have familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and the ability to develop and implement them effectively. Experience with assistive technology and adaptive equipment is highly desirable.

Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills

Candidates must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and support staff. The ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively is essential for success in this role.
