Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Project Accountant to join our team. This role is pivotal in managing financial aspects of projects, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with contractual obligations. The Project Accountant will engage with various stakeholders to facilitate collections, prepare financial documents, and support project management with financial insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and prepare monthly requisitions and payment applications in line with contract specifications.
- Generate invoices and maintain change order documentation.
- Track and resolve outstanding issues related to assigned projects.
- Compile and produce cash management and forecasting reports for senior management review.
- Organize and maintain billing job folders systematically.
- Conduct analysis of job costs and assess profit/loss for assigned projects.
- Engage regularly with clients and internal teams regarding collections and billing matters.
- Collaborate with Project Management on billing, change orders, and financial analysis.
- Review and prepare necessary waivers or tax certificates.
- Ensure compliance with Certified Payroll, Insurance, and M/WBE reporting requirements.
- Actively participate as a team member accountable for all accounting-related tasks for assigned projects.
- Assist the Director of Project Accounting, Controller, and CFO with various accounting functions.
- Maintain a reliable and consistent onsite presence as a critical function of the role.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of five years of experience in project accounting, specifically with subcontractors.
- Familiarity with Viewpoint by Vista construction ERP software is highly desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize effectively in a dynamic, multi-tasking environment with minimal supervision.
Compensation: The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $120,000, complemented by Local Union 3 ADM benefits.
