Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Access Specialist to join our team at Alabama Regional Medical Services. As a Healthcare Access Specialist, you will play a critical role in helping patients navigate the healthcare system, reduce barriers to care, and improve health outcomes.

About the Role

  • Guide patients through the healthcare system, ensuring they receive timely and effective care.
  • Assist patients with access issues, including transportation, insurance, language, housing, and coordinate support or connect them to community and social services.
  • Educate patients on care processes and provide support to reduce anxiety and fear.
  • Facilitate referrals for mammogram screenings and other diagnostic tests.
  • Communicate in a culturally competent manner with patients upon learning they have an abnormal mammogram, biopsy, pap smear, or a positive finding.

Requirements

  • A strong understanding of healthcare systems and access issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

Salary Information

The estimated salary range for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.
