Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Oriana House. As a key member of our chemical dependency services team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and prioritize client care needs using client history and nursing assessment.
  • Direct service provision of Counselor Interns.
  • Work under the supervision of a physician during examinations and treatment.
  • Participate in the development of staff training and present information on medical issues.
  • Maintain accountability of medical equipment and supplies.
  • Observe, report, and thoroughly document and evaluate clients' conditions and responses to care.
  • Provide direction to the primary care team as directed by the staff physician and Nursing Supervisor.
  • Provide direct client care and recognize and interpret clients' conditions and responses to therapy.
  • Encourage the utilization of positive reinforcement in the treatment of clients and assure that all clients receive equitable care.
  • Confers with other staff members to maintain an up-to-date knowledge of clients' status.
  • Monitor training of subordinate staff and assist in training of peers as directed by the Nursing Supervisor.
  • Assist in the collection of report data.
  • Maintain all areas within unit in a safe and clean condition.
  • Maintain a current knowledge of chemical dependency nursing.
  • Continues professional training, stays current with professional developments, and maintains license.
Qualifications
  • Nurse with a valid Ohio License.
  • Two (2) years of nursing experience in chemical dependency services preferred.
  • Maintains the required licensure/certification in good standing.
  • Must have a favorable attitude regarding the disease concept of addiction.
  • Must have the ability to effectively work with Agency employees, outside contacts, and a diverse client population.
