Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Stitcher I to join our team at Nahan. As a Stitcher I, you will be responsible for directing Stitcher with Inkjet operations to provide a product that meets customer quality and time requirements while meeting company profitability requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Security and Compliance: Comply with security guidelines set by Nahan to protect our customers.
  2. Production Support: Answer phone, perform basic production-related duties, and keep schedule on track in absence of Shift Leader.
  3. Quality Assurance: Inspect cost center processes to determine that they are done properly, and quality standards are followed.
  4. Postal Specifications: Read and understand postal specs and be able to follow the sign-off.
  5. Sortation and Bagging: Complete sortation training and understand bagging requirements.
  6. Inkjet Controller Operations: Learn, understand, and follow all established processes associated with the operation of the Ink Jet controller and all in-line equipment.
  7. Equipment Setup and Maintenance: Setup, operate, and maintain the Ink Jet and all associated in-line equipment.
  8. Helper Duties: Perform helper duties, including setting up stations and sortation and bagging requirements.
  9. Card Feeding Equipment: Setup, run, and maintain all cards feeding equipment.
  10. Pocket Feeders and Poly Wrapper: Set up, run, and maintain pocket feeders and all related equipment.
  11. Machine Setup and Measurement: Set up machine in the correct manner and assure that the job is lined up and measured correctly according to job ticket and dylux.
  12. Training and Troubleshooting: Teach and train operation and basic troubleshooting of Stitcher.
  13. Make Readies and Repair: Do make readies proficiently, pockets, stitcher heads, cover feeder, etc. Repair and rebuild stitcher heads.
  14. Leadership and Communication: Demonstrate leadership in working with operators, Helpers, and temps, etc. Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and listening).
Requirements
  1. Secondary Equipment Operation: Ability to operate secondary piece of equipment preferred.
  2. Ink Jet and Controller Knowledge: Ink jet and controller knowledge preferred.
  3. Departmental Knowledge: Knowledge of procedures in other departments (Press, Direct Mail, Shipping/Receiving, Distribution, etc.).
  4. Finishing Equipment Knowledge: Knowledge of Finishing equipment, materials, and products.
  5. Computer Experience: Computer experience.
  6. Training and Coaching: Ability to train and coach.
  7. Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills.
  8. Physical Effort: Physical effort - refer to physical demand analysis.
