Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Multimedia Journalist to join our team at Mediabistro. As a Multimedia Journalist, you will be responsible for researching and gathering information for news stories, including live reporting, and creating high-quality video packages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and Gather Information: Conduct thorough research to gather information for news stories, including live reporting, and create engaging content for various platforms.
  • Cover Breaking News: Cover breaking news, weather, and sports events, and provide timely and accurate information to our audience.
  • Video Production: Create high-quality video packages, including shooting and editing video content for various platforms.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other reporters on special projects and develop contacts to pitch story ideas.
  • Storytelling: Develop and pitch story ideas, and engage with viewers authentically through compelling storytelling.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Experience in television news reporting and video production, with a strong portfolio showcasing reporting and photography work.
  • Writing and Editing Skills: Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to engage with viewers authentically.
  • Deadline Pressure: Demonstrated ability to handle deadline pressure and work well under tight deadlines.
  • Previous Experience: Previous military experience a plus, but not required.
