Position Overview

The **Anesthesia Technician** plays a crucial role in the **Surgery** department, providing essential support to licensed anesthesia providers. This position is integral to ensuring optimal patient care throughout the surgical process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of anesthesia equipment and supplies.
  • Transport anesthesia apparatus to various departments as required.
  • Perform routine cleaning, sterilization, and disinfection of equipment.
  • Maintain inventory and order necessary anesthesia supplies.

The technician will work closely under the supervision of licensed anesthesia professionals, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and guidelines established by regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess a **High School Diploma** or equivalent. Previous experience in an operating room or anesthesia environment is advantageous. Additionally, certification in **CPR** is mandatory for all direct patient care roles, with further certifications such as **ACLS** and **PALS** required for specific departments.

Knowledge and Skills

The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of anesthesia delivery systems, monitoring devices, and relevant anatomy and physiology. Competency in caring for diverse patient populations, including neonates, children, adults, and geriatrics, is essential.

Reporting Structure

This position reports to the designated anesthesia supervisor as outlined in the organizational structure.
