Adjunct Faculty-Mechatronics Instructor

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty-Mechatronics to join our team at Roane State Community College. The successful candidate will teach a combination of Mechatronics classes, including introductory classes in electrical circuits, hydraulics/pneumatics, mechanical systems, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs), as well as advanced classes in statics/dynamics, robotics, PLCs, and automated production technologies.

The Adjunct Faculty-Mechatronics will be responsible for planning and teaching classes as outlined in the course descriptions and course syllabi. The candidate must have good oral and written communication skills, the ability to work with students of all ages, and exhibit flexibility and collegiality.

• Plan and teach classes as outlined in the course descriptions and course syllabi.
• Use technology and approved curricular aides in order to ensure alignment of the curriculum with Siemens Level 1 and 2 or SACA certifications.

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Mechatronics or similar Engineering field.
• An Associate degree in these fields in conjunction with relevant professional experience is also acceptable.

• Teaching experience in manufacturing technology-related programs.
• Teaching experience in post-secondary education programs.
• Master's degree in suitable engineering discipline.

• Computer skills including familiarity with Desire2Learn (or other course management software), schematic design software, Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLCs.
• Knowledge of the role and purpose of the community college in higher education.
• Willingness to work with diverse student populations who represent a wide range of age, ethnicity, and academic ability.
