Adjunct Faculty-Mechatronics

The Tennessee Board of Regents is seeking a qualified candidate for an adjunct faculty position in our Mechatronics Program. The successful candidate will teach a combination of Mechatronics classes, including introductory classes in electrical circuits, hydraulics/pneumatics, mechanical systems, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs), as well as advanced classes in statics/dynamics, robotics, PLCs, and automated production technologies.

• Plan and teach classes as outlined in the course descriptions and course syllabi.
• Use technology and approved curricular aides to ensure alignment of the curriculum with Siemens Level 1 and 2 or SACA certifications.

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or a similar engineering field.
• Associate degree in these fields in conjunction with relevant professional experience.
• Good oral and written communication skills, the ability to work with students of all ages, and exhibit flexibility and collegiality.

• Teaching experience in manufacturing technology-related programs.
• Teaching experience in post-secondary education programs.
• Master's degree in a suitable engineering discipline.

• Computer skills, including familiarity with Desire2Learn (or other course management software), schematic design software, Siemens, and Allen-Bradley PLCs.
• Knowledge of the role and purpose of the community college in higher education.
• Willingness to work with diverse student populations who represent a wide range of age, ethnicity, and academic ability.
