Position Summary
We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Class A CDL Driver to join our team. This role involves the safe transportation of building materials and components using flatbeds, step decks, and roll-off trailers. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to operate a truck-mounted forklift and ensure products are unloaded safely and without damage.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary starting at $24-$28/hour, commensurate with experience, along with the potential for salary increases every six months based on performance. New hires will receive a $2,000 Hiring Bonus, distributed as follows: $500 after 90 days, $500 after 6 months, and $1,000 after one year. Work Schedule
This position operates on a Monday through Friday schedule, with no weekend work required. We value your personal time, ensuring you are home every night. Occasionally, overnight stays may be necessary, for which we provide a stipend for hotel and meal expenses. Start times are flexible, typically ranging from 5:00 AM to 7:00 AM, allowing for adjustments to fit your schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely deliver building materials and components to designated locations.
- Operate a truck-mounted forklift and assist with loading and unloading materials.
- Adhere to all DOT regulations and maintain accurate hours of service logs.
- Conduct pre and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
- Secure loads properly using cables, chains, binders, and straps.
- Ensure all products delivered are damage-free and report any issues immediately.
- Maintain positive communication with customers and team members.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Valid Class A driver's license
- Clean driving record
- Minimum of 2 years of driving experience, preferably with flatbed trailers
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs occasionally
- Strong organizational skills and proficiency in English
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug tests
- Consistent attendance and a positive, self-motivated attitude
Preferred Skills:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Forklift experience is a plus
- Warehouse experience is advantageous
