Key Responsibilities- Supervise and care for infants and toddlers in a safe and healthy environment
- Plan and implement engaging and developmentally appropriate activities to promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth
- Communicate effectively with parents and families to ensure seamless transitions and support
- Maintain accurate records and reports to track progress and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and supportive team environment
- Associate degree in early childhood education, child development, or related field
- Current and valid Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or higher
- Three (3) semester units in early childhood development with a focus on infant and toddler development
- Ability to provide responsive and nurturing teacher-child interactions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
- Experience working with infants and toddlers in a center-based setting
- Knowledge of safety issues in infant/toddler care
The working conditions and physical demands of this position will be those that must be met to successfully perform the essential duties of the position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.
The physical environment the incumbent will work in is typically a pre-school environment with moderate noise levels. Outdoor and indoor supervision of playgrounds/workplace for on-going periods occurs regularly. Lift and carry up to 45 lbs. or more. The individual must be able to work with children at their eye level and always maintain visual supervision of children, as well as hear, communicate, and comprehend effectively with children, staff, and parents.
