About the Role

Title: Senior Manager or Director (based on experience)

Reports To: Chief Investment Officer

Location: Flexible

Role Overview: This pivotal position within the Capital Markets division is responsible for leading capital formation efforts for the company's projects, portfolios, or corporate financial requirements. Suitable candidates will be motivated to tackle complex challenges to ensure the successful deployment of the company's initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead or assist in structured transactions across the capital structure at both project and corporate levels, representing the company to the capital markets.
  • Develop and maintain precise, well-organized financial models (both levered and unlevered) for various projects in the pipeline.
  • Collaborate closely with the CIO and leadership team to prepare and present intricate analyses and conclusions regarding the financial implications of diverse development strategies and financial structures.
  • Conduct outreach and analysis on emerging market issues that have significant financial repercussions for projects and the organization.
  • Optimize capital stack and commercial offtake arrangements for both merchant and contracted energy storage projects.
  • Assist in the execution of project acquisitions, including valuation, due diligence, and documentation.
  • Support development and commercial strategies, participating in key strategic decisions.
  • Work collaboratively with procurement, engineering, commercial, development, and other finance team members to ensure project success and establish sustainable best practices.
  • Assist the CIO in capital planning, forecasting, and scenario analysis as required.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in corporate finance, investment banking, structured finance, or project finance.
  • Strong analytical skills, self-motivation, adaptability, creativity, and a desire to take on additional responsibilities as the company grows.
  • Preference for direct, relevant experience in the renewable or energy storage sector, with an understanding of utility-scale project development.
  • Network of relevant market participants across debt, tax equity, equity, and consulting.
  • Proven track record of leading capital formation initiatives, including debt, tax equity, and/or equity.
  • Some familiarity with structured energy products or wholesale power markets is advantageous.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, along with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.

Compensation and Benefits

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time. Eligibility to work in the United States is required.

Salary: Competitive base salary commensurate with experience.
