Job Responsibilities:
The Helicopter Pilot is responsible for ensuring the aircraft and weather conditions are suitable for the safe transport of medical personnel and patients to designated hospitals within the operational area. Key responsibilities include:
- Operating Air Methods aircraft in compliance with safety regulations.
- Conducting thorough pre-flight inspections to confirm the aircraft's airworthiness.
- Maintaining final authority over all flight operations and ensuring passenger safety.
- Familiarizing with all aircraft and medical systems to ensure operational readiness.
- Completing necessary documentation accurately.
- Executing detailed flight planning with precision.
- Engaging in company meetings and community outreach initiatives.
- Performing additional duties as required.
Job Requirements:
To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Regular attendance is essential for this position.
- Maintain a weight not exceeding 250 pounds and be under 70 years of age.
Qualifications:
Candidates should possess the following:
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Two to five years of relevant experience.
Flight Experience:
- Minimum of 2500 total flight hours, with at least 2000 hours in category.
- 1000 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC) in category.
- 500 hours of rotor wing turbine experience.
- 500 hours of cross-country flight time, including night flying.
- Instrument rating and necessary medical certifications.
