Job Summary
The Victoria Independent School District is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated School Counselor to join our team. As a School Counselor, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of our students.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses the diverse needs of our students.
- Provide individual and group counseling services to students, focusing on academic, career, and personal development.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to ensure a supportive learning environment.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote student engagement, motivation, and academic achievement.
- Provide guidance on college and career readiness, including college applications and financial aid.
- Participate in the development and implementation of the district's Response to Intervention (RTI) program.
- Stay up-to-date with best practices in school counseling and make recommendations for program improvement.
Qualifications
- Masters degree in Counseling or related field.
- Valid Texas School Counselor Certification.
- Minimum of two years of teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with diverse student populations.
- Knowledge of school counseling best practices and research-based interventions.
- Ability to work effectively with teachers, administrators, and parents.
Working Conditions
This is a full-time position working in a school setting. The successful candidate will be required to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student success.
