Position Overview

As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the design and development of high-voltage transmission lines ranging from 69kV to 765kV. Your expertise will guide less experienced engineers, fostering their growth and ensuring the delivery of high-quality designs that meet industry standards and client specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design process for transmission lines, ensuring compliance with relevant specifications and codes.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior engineers within the design team.
  • Coordinate design efforts to align with operational requirements and client expectations.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and technical studies that effectively communicate complex information to clients.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of engineering work, including calculations and design drawings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to best practices.
  • Follow Sargent & Lundy's established processes to maintain quality and efficiency in project execution.

Work Arrangement
This position offers a hybrid work model, requiring three days in the office and allowing for two days of remote work each week.

Qualifications
Note: We do not provide sponsorship for work authorization in the U.S. for this role.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in transmission line design.
  • Proficient in PLS-CADD software.
  • Experience in developing scopes of work, conceptual designs, and technical specifications.
  • Direct experience collaborating with clients on transmission line projects ranging from 69kV to 500kV.
  • Familiarity with engineering standards such as NESC, IEC, ASCE, ACI, IEEE, and ANSI.
  • Ability to review and critique design drawings produced by others.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience in construction management.
  • Knowledge of ArcGIS.
