Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and record patient data, including medical history and vital signs
  • Prepare patients for exams and procedures, including setting up sterile fields and chaperoning
  • Administer medications, including parenteral and oral medications
  • Perform routine non-invasive treatment procedures, such as phlebotomy and EKGs
  • Enter data into computer systems and verify accuracy
  • Provide basic cashiering duties and collect monies for various activities
  • Maintain a sanitary work area and report equipment problems
Requirements
  • High School or GED Equivalent
  • Program Graduate
  • Course completion in Medical Assisting or related field
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer certification
Working Conditions

This position requires heavy lifting and may involve exposure to biohazardous materials. May be required to travel to various work sites and rotate work shifts.
