Commodity Trader Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Commodity Trader to join our team at JBS USA Holdings, Inc. in Greeley, CO.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive sales to achieve budgetary and company targets, including profit targets, cash flow return on assets, and working capital requirements.
  • Develop and implement trading strategies within approved policies for the profitable operation of the business unit.
  • Identify growth opportunities through the leverage of existing assets and the identification of new opportunities in conjunction with business development and projects.
  • Maintain effective relationships with internal counterparts, customers, and third-party suppliers.
  • Manage designated key customers/destinations as a complete package to ensure that the Company's trading activities exceed the expectations of new and existing buyers and suppliers.
  • Work with shipping, logistics, rail, finance, and other functions that impact on key accounts and relevant commodities.
  • Liaise with the Commercial Manager concerning process issues in the Trading and Administration areas.
  • Promote the activities of trading of commodities on a daily basis.
  • Ensure the appropriate protection of the Company's financial interests by conscious and active risk management.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Business, Animal Science, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
  • 5-10 years' relevant industry experience.
  • Previous physical commodity trading experience highly desired.
  • Demonstrated success leading a team in a commercial environment.
  • Sales and marketing experience.
  • Strong knowledge of International Shipping and Logistics processes.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of agricultural supply systems and exporting/importing/logistics for perishable commodities.
  • Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
Benefits:

  • 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule.
  • Base salary range of $90,000-$120,000.
  • Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company's annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program.
