Facilities Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Engineer - Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team at RTX. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting facilities electrical design, electrical distribution, and construction project management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project estimating, load sizing, coordination studies, and arch flash studies
- Development of construction drawings, preparation of bid documents, and construction administration
- Coordination with internal customers, development of continuous improvement projects, and meeting with internal customers
- Interface and coordination with internal and external resources, including information technology, safety, security, and construction trade workers
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of prior relevant experience in building electrical engineering
- Knowledge of high, medium, and low voltage, primary and secondary power multi-frequency, power grounding solutions, load sizing control systems, and interlock systems
- Familiarity with building electrical systems and general understanding of building construction and civil works
- At least 5 years of experience with construction project management, including customer scoping meetings, budget monitoring, establishing and updating schedules, contractor coordination, commissioning, and close-out
- At least 5 years of experience writing clear technical engineering specifications, reports, and operating procedures
- Working knowledge of SKM short circuit & arc fault analysis and feeder & transformer sizing
- Solid computer skills, including proficiency with AutoCad, REVIT, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project Scheduler
Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications:
- BS Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related discipline and at least eight (8) years of prior relevant experience in building electrical engineering or an advance degree and 5 years experience in the absence of a degree a combination of education, applicable relevant experience, and/or certifications in lieu of degree may be considered
Security Clearance:
This position requires the eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Work Authorization Status:
Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools/sites that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience in Facilities Engineering
- Experience with Design and Construction Project Management
- Experience with manufacturing facilities
- Experience in Building Automation Systems (BAS) and control systems such as: Siemens, Johnson Controls, Schneider Electric
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to interface and present to leadership, internal customers, information technology, security, construction trade workers, and subcontractors
