Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
As an Evening Events Coordinator, you will oversee the student Event Staff during evening hours. Your primary duties will include:

  • Staff Oversight: Provide guidance and supervision to ensure the Event Staff complete their tasks effectively and efficiently. Verify room setups and cleanliness, and compile a daily report at the end of each shift.
  • Event Management: Supervise evening events across campus, assisting with audio-visual requirements and ensuring compliance with university policies.
  • Customer Engagement: Maintain positive relationships with event hosts and provide necessary information to students, faculty, staff, and visitors regarding policies and services.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Opening and securing rooms as required.
  • Assisting in emergency situations, including weather and fire emergencies.
  • Ensuring compliance with university and departmental regulations.
  • Managing event setups and ensuring rooms are clean and equipment is operational.
  • Conducting routine inspections of conference rooms and reporting any issues.
  • Maintaining orderly storerooms and assisting with inventory management.
  • Completing daily reports accurately and thoroughly.
  • Performing additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
Applicants must be current students at UM-Flint. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Strong leadership abilities and the capacity to enforce policies.
  • Exceptional customer service skills in diverse conditions.
  • Familiarity with the UM-Flint campus.
  • Availability to work from 4 PM to 9 PM, Monday through Friday, with some flexibility.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a supervisory role and knowledge of audio-visual equipment are advantageous.

Work Environment:
This position requires a fully onsite presence at designated U-M locations.
