Position Overview:

The Parking Control Officer plays a vital role in maintaining the integrity of parking facilities and ensuring compliance with parking regulations. This full-time position is situated within the Parking & Transportation department and is essential for the smooth operation of campus events and daily activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitoring and Enforcement: Conduct regular patrols of parking areas using various modes of transportation, including foot, bicycle, and vehicle, to ensure only authorized vehicles are present.
  • Visitor Assistance: Provide clear and accurate directional guidance to visitors, issue permits, and assist with any inquiries related to parking.
  • Event Support: Collaborate with event staff to set up and dismantle necessary equipment such as cones and barricades for various campus activities.
  • Customer Relations: Act as a liaison between the parking office and the campus community, addressing concerns and providing assistance as needed.
  • Vehicle Immobilization: Manage the installation and removal of immobilization devices on vehicles in violation of parking regulations.
  • Roadside Assistance: Offer support to motorists in need, including battery jumps and unlocking vehicles.
  • Supervisory Duties: Oversee and mentor student employees, ensuring effective operations within the team.
  • Additional Tasks: Perform other duties as assigned to support the department's objectives.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid US Driver's License.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a role with significant public interaction.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with two or more years of experience in parking management.
  • Experience in supervising staff.
Work Environment:

This position may require working evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as the ability to adapt to varying schedules based on departmental needs.
