Key Responsibilities- Oversee laboratory projects to ensure timely completion and alignment with research objectives.
- Manage laboratory operations, including inventory management, equipment maintenance, and quality assurance.
- Provide guidance and support to laboratory personnel, including training and development opportunities.
- Assist the Principal Investigator with coordinating laboratory supplies, repairs, and maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols, including biohazard, chemical waste, and biosafety procedures.
- Manage quality assurance activities for specimen collection, handling, processing, and shipping.
- Participate in the development of research project goals and laboratory work plans.
- Contribute to the planning and design of studies, including protocol development, data collection planning, and statistical analysis.
- Interpret data, monitor outcomes, and develop modifications to improve laboratory operations.
- Supervise laboratory equipment, supplies, and inventory management.
- Maintain monitoring of laboratory freezers.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and guidance documents to improve laboratory operations.
- Manage research compliance, including Institutional Review Board (IRB), Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), and Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) requirements.
- Assist with the development of budgets and manage study-related expenses and revenues.
- Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in a laboratory setting, supporting basic and/or translational research.
- Experience with specimen handling and laboratory operations.
- Excellent time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Master's degree or higher in biology, chemistry, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in a research laboratory setting.
- Advanced knowledge of laboratory practices and procedures.
