Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Sonographer to join our team at Waterbury Hospital. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of Ultrasound exams, utilizing your expertise to obtain optimal images and provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Ultrasound exams, utilizing proper equipment and techniques to obtain high-quality images.
  • Prepare patients for exams, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process.
  • Collaborate with physicians to assist with biopsies, aspirations, and other special procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of all exams, including patient information and imaging results.
  • Clean and maintain Ultrasound equipment and examination rooms, adhering to universal precautions.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest imaging techniques and technologies, ensuring compliance with ACR standards.
  • Instruct Ultrasound students in clinical procedures, sharing your expertise and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Sonography program, approved by the American College of Radiology.
  • Certified through the American Society for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS) as RDMS (OB or AB), RT(S), RT (VS), RVT, or RVS.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with patients, staff, and hospital personnel.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathological processes pertinent to diagnostic Ultrasound.
  • Ability to lift and pull patients, push stretchers, and stand for extended periods.
