Position Overview

The Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) serves as a vital caregiver, taking on the responsibility for the comprehensive assessment, planning, execution, and evaluation of patient care. The RN applies the nursing process, leveraging technology, therapeutic interventions, evidence-based practices, and collaborative care coordination with the healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

Assessment:

  • Conducts thorough evaluations of patients' physical, social, and psychological conditions, including cognitive and developmental aspects as necessary.
  • Gathers and analyzes information from interdisciplinary team members, including patients, families, physicians, and support staff.

Planning:

  • Utilizes assessment data and critical thinking to collaboratively create personalized care plans.
  • Encourages active participation from patients, families, and the healthcare team in the planning process, including necessary education.
  • Prepares patients for ongoing support needs post-care, including education, referrals, and follow-up.

Implementation:

  • Leads the interdisciplinary care team through effective delegation, coordination, and collaboration.
  • Delivers or assigns care in accordance with established care plans and professional standards.
  • Demonstrates effective time management and resource allocation to prioritize patient care delivery.

Evaluation:

  • Assesses patient responses to interventions by reviewing goal achievements, clinical outcomes, and satisfaction levels.
  • Modifies care plans as necessary and reassesses patient conditions accordingly.

Professional Standards:

  • Advocates for the nursing profession and contributes to the development of peers.
  • Incorporates legal and ethical standards into practice, ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining accurate documentation.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Active RN License in the state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain a BSN within five years of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
  • Verification of degree is required.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to see and read information, assess patient needs, and operate medical equipment.
  • Frequent communication with patients and healthcare providers, requiring auditory and verbal skills.
  • Manual dexterity for operating delicate equipment and frequent computer use for documentation.
  • Capability to lift and move patients and equipment, including navigating busy environments.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods as needed.
