Position Overview

The Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) is a skilled healthcare professional responsible for the comprehensive assessment, planning, execution, and evaluation of patient care. This role involves utilizing advanced nursing techniques, therapeutic interventions, and evidence-based practices while collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

Assessment:

  • Conducts thorough evaluations of patients' physical, social, and psychological well-being, including cognitive and developmental aspects as necessary.
  • Collects and analyzes information from various members of the healthcare team, including patients, families, and other professionals.

Planning:

  • Employs assessment data and critical thinking to collaboratively formulate a personalized care plan.
  • Encourages active participation from patients, families, and healthcare teams in the care planning process, including necessary educational components.
  • Plans for ongoing support needs post-discharge, including education, referrals, and follow-up care.

Implementation:

  • Leads the interdisciplinary care team through effective delegation, coordination, and collaboration.
  • Delivers or assigns care in accordance with the established care plan and professional standards.
  • Exhibits strong organizational skills to prioritize and manage patient care efficiently.

Evaluation:

  • Assesses patient responses to interventions by reviewing clinical outcomes and satisfaction levels.
  • Adjusts care plans as necessary based on ongoing evaluations.

Professional Standards:

  • Advocates for the nursing profession and contributes to the development of peers.
  • Adheres to legal and ethical standards in practice, ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining accurate documentation.

Qualifications

  • Active RN License in the state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • New RNs must obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within five years of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to see and read information, assess patient needs, and operate medical equipment.
  • Frequent communication with patients and healthcare providers, requiring clear verbal skills.
  • Manual dexterity for operating delicate medical instruments and frequent computer use.
  • Capability to lift and move patients and equipment as needed.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and navigate busy environments.
