The Speech Language Pathologist in Home Health is tasked with assessing and evaluating patient care needs related to addressing speech and language disorders, as well as providing functional training in communication, swallowing, and cognitive challenges.

  • Delivers services within the scope of practice as defined by state regulations governing speech therapy, in alignment with the care plan, and in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
  • Assesses the patient's functional abilities through diagnostic and prognostic evaluations, assisting the physician in formulating the therapy care plan.
  • Facilitates effective communication for patients by helping them articulate their thoughts in accordance with their specific conditions, adhering to established standards of practice.
  • Educates the patient, their family, and/or caregivers, along with other healthcare team members, in relevant areas of speech therapy where they can contribute.

License Requirements

  • Must hold a current license in Speech Therapy within the state.
  • Current CPR certification is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance, along with access to reliable transportation.
