Job Summary:
The College of Mount Saint Vincent is seeking a highly qualified Simulation Educator - Nursing to join our team. As a Simulation Educator - Nursing, you will be responsible for designing and delivering high-quality simulation-based learning experiences for nursing students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver simulation scenarios to promote student learning, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making.
- Collaborate with the Simulation Committee and Nursing faculty to develop simulation scenarios.
- Facilitate the adult learning process to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Coordinate with and supervise students to ensure that lab experiences meet course objectives.
- Provide individual oversight to students for practice and remediation on technical skills and competencies.
- Teach in the high-fidelity simulation laboratories and conduct debriefing sessions after each simulation experience.
- Teach clinical skills in the low-fidelity laboratories as needed.
- Assist with faculty development and training related to the use of simulation.
- Coordinate with the Director of Simulation and Assistant Dean of Clinical and Simulation Learning to oversee the use of the Simulation Center.
Requirements:
- Masters degree in Nursing.
- An unencumbered RN license in New York State.
- Strong interpersonal, public speaking, and writing skills.
- Past experience with teaching students or in a similar role.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems and work independently.
- Ability to represent the College in a professional manner.
- Ability to work with confidential information and exercise discretion.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with faculty, staff, and leadership.
- Ability to use Google Suite and Gmail.
