Project Manager/Senior Mechanical Engineer Job Description

At Smith Seckman Reid, we are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager/Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of projects from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Confirm project scope and requirements with clients and stakeholders
  • Develop financial plans and negotiate fees and contracts
  • Assist in developing project staffing plans and preliminary man hour budgets
  • Ensure project coordinators are assigned and work with clients to complete BIM questionnaires
  • Participate in project kick-off meetings and communicate schedule information to project teams
  • Prepare and implement proactive Quality Assurance/Quality Control plans
  • Monitor project budgets and work with project teams to schedule work in accordance with man hour budgets
  • Identify, negotiate, and administer fees for additional services
  • Build and develop business relationships vital to project success
  • Perform risk assessments and develop response strategies
  • Manage the Construction Administration process and supervise job closeout processes
Requirements:
  • Technical or Bachelor's degree in a major technical discipline
  • Professional Engineer Licensure
  • Healthcare building design experience preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of engineering theories and methodologies
  • Knowledge of project approach and system design
  • Basic accounting knowledge and budgeting skills
