Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at Great Western Dining. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing delicious meals that meet the high standards of our customers.

Responsibilities
  • Set up workstations with all necessary ingredients and cooking equipment
  • Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat, etc.
  • Prepare, portion, and cook food items for various meal periods or special events
  • Prepare and cook to order or items that require short preparation time
  • Follow basic recipes and production information
  • Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before serving
  • Maintain a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
  • Store food and other items properly
  • Follow all company HACCP and safety policies
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a cook
  • Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment
  • Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods
  • Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Maintain a positive attitude
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Continuous walking and other means of mobility
  • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push/pull, and frequently lift/move up to 30 pounds
Work Schedule

This is a Monday-Thursday position with a 10am-7:30p/8p schedule. Some lead experience is required, and you will work directly under the FSD. You will have most federal holidays off, about 1 month break for Christmas, and Spring break is 1 week. Furlough in the summer for about 2 1/2 months.
