Assistant JV Baseball Coach

Job Summary:
The Assistant JV Baseball Coach will report to the Director of Athletics and work under the supervision of the Head JV Baseball Coach and Head Varsity Baseball Coach. This position is responsible for coaching and providing direction to student athletes to achieve a high level of skill and appreciation for physical fitness, discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and supervise the JV Baseball program.
- Ensure adherence to Branson and League policies, rules, and regulations.
- Work with the Athletic Department to plan and organize practices and games schedules.
- Maintain a safe environment for student athletes.
- Develop an appropriate training program and practice schedules.
- Communicate regularly with team parents regarding overall team operations.
- Ensure the regular supervision of student athletes at home and away games.
- Ensure student athletes adhere to training rules, class, and grade requirements.
- Interact thoughtfully and courteously with students, staff, parents, and officials.
- Represent Branson professionally in all interactions with the community.
- Maintain necessary records and complete Paycom timecard within specified timeframes.
- Maintain appropriate certifications and training hours.
- Attend work regularly and be punctual to all practices and games.
- Obtain advance approval for the Athletic Director for all team-related expenditures.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
- One to two years of experience as a basketball coach at the high school or collegiate level.
- CPR Certified through American Red Cross.
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive student athletes to off-campus trainings and games.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize.
- Experience working and communicating with diverse groups of people.
- Ability to act professionally and keep students' records confidential.
- Ability to make decisions and handle conflicts.
- Problem-solving skills and creativity.
Physical Requirements:
- Heavy work, exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally.
- Ability to assist with athletes of various weights and heights.
- Ability to stand for long periods, have good mobility skills, and walk long distances.
- Ability to carry training kit and coolers for long distances.
- Use strength to lift items, raising objects from lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position.
- Ability to bend at hips and knees.
- Ability to work in noisy and crowded environments.
