Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team at Empirical Corporation. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a critical role in providing financial reporting and analysis services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process journal entries and other accounting transactions
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts to subsidiary modules and external reporting systems
  • Work with large volumes of data to perform analyses and identify errors and anomalies
  • Research and correct financial errors and anomalies
  • Prepare and submit ad-hoc financial reports and summaries
  • Draft and validate standard operating procedures
Requirements
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and independently
  • Willingness to learn new tasks and business functions
  • Ability to learn quickly and multi-task
  • Proficient in MS Office suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in federal accounting and/or financial management
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other Business-Related degree
  • CPA candidate and/or CGFM preferred
