Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate ED Technician to join our team at Bon Secours Mercy Health. As an ED Technician, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care under the guidance of a registered nurse or designated healthcare professional.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide basic patient care and tasks, including vital sign measurement, personal care, and hygiene, under the direction of an RN.
  • Assist with mobility, perform lab draws, ECGs, basic wound care, and other unit-based specialty duties.
  • Verify patient information, place wristbands, and complete patient rounding as assigned.
  • Act as a liaison between patients and nurses to report changes and concerns.
  • Provide high-level customer service to patients, families, and healthcare providers.
  • Document patient care accurately and timely.
  • Participate in handoff reports and maintain knowledge of policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • BLS certification (preferred upon hire)
  • Current certification as an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Medical Assisting (preferred)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous experience in a patient care or nursing support role (preferred)
Working Conditions

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads. You may be exposed to hazardous substances, body fluids, and physical altercations. Regular travel to off-site locations may be required.
