Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Systems Analyst to join our team at Portland General Electric. As a Business Systems Analyst, you will play a critical role in driving business innovation and growth by analyzing business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and developing solutions to meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a liaison between IT and the business to elicit, document, analyze, and validate requirements for new systems and enhancements of existing systems.
  • Analyze business processes and problems to be solved with automated systems.
  • Identify gaps and provide expertise in business requirements for system specifications and scale new and current systems, processes, and procedures in a cost-effective manner.
  • Investigate operational needs, problems, and opportunities, contributing to the recommendation of improvements in automated and non-automated components of new or changed processes and organization.
  • Assist in defining acceptance tests for these recommendations.
  • Define scope and business priorities for small-scale changes and may assist in larger-scale scoping exercises.
  • Elicit and discover requirements from operational management and other stakeholders.
  • Select appropriate techniques for the elicitation of detailed requirements taking into account the nature of the required changes, established practice, and the characteristics and culture of those providing the requirements.
  • Specify and document business requirements as directed, ensuring traceability back to source.
  • Analyze them for adherence to business objectives and for consistency, challenging positively as appropriate.
  • Work with stakeholders to prioritize requirements.
  • Respond to common requests for service by providing information to enable fulfillment.
  • Promptly allocate unresolved calls as appropriate.
  • Maintain records, inform users about the process, and advise relevant persons of actions taken.
  • Communicate effectively with clients by telephone and in person.
  • Assist in the provision of customer service, including technical advice and guidance on matters bearing on the successful use of products and services.
  • Assist in devising solutions to client requirements and solve straightforward problems.
Requirements
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in business, computer science, engineering, management, or other related field or equivalent experience.
  • Typically two or more years in a related field. Preferred experience in or knowledge of specific line of business and/or IT environment.

Compensation Range: $72,121.50

Actual total compensation, including a performance-based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity.
