Job Summary

The Regional Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing maintenance operations across multiple locations and states, managing shop managers, service truck technicians, and ensuring that Hub Group's maintenance objectives and plans are effectively communicated and executed within their respective locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a network of outside repair shops to ensure that Hub Group trucks receive the necessary maintenance.
  • Control and optimize maintenance costs to maximize the utilization of trucks and drivers.
  • Provide repair instructions and directions to outside shops.
  • Manage PM cycles and ensure compliance with DOT standards.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to terminal managers and drivers requiring maintenance work.
  • Negotiate repair costs with out-of-network shops and approve outside vendor repairs.
  • Approve and handle breakdown repairs.
  • Efficiently process all maintenance-related transactions within the system.
  • Assist in the analysis, development, and implementation of action plans.
  • Play a critical role in growing the branches (business unit) by increasing customer retention, expansion, and new sales.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet maintenance management with a focus on cost optimization and reducing downtime.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use technology and to recommend continuous improvement ideas and actions.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, PM schedules, and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with drivers, terminal managers, and outside vendors.
  • Ability to efficiently manage and prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned territory as needed.
